secret circuit, having been knighted by tastemaker tim sweeney by releasing their first 12? on his beats in space imprint, seriously run the voodoo down with this intense jam:jungle drums, spellbinding exotic chants once obstinately nesting in your head once you heard them, cheeping, bleeping and tweeting dub noises messing with your sense of orientation, gyrating guitar chords in a my bloody valentine style and between all this wonderful sonic chaos a slightly latin jazz tinged piano breaks its way. a beautiful maze of a track where you easily can get lost in for the rest of this summer. on the flip portugals tiago accentuates the cosmic rock vibe throwing in an aggressive guitar riff that sounds very much like chicagos im a man and prins thomas chucks the looser jam-like first part of the original over board and bundles the psychedelic elements to a breathlessly, constantly intensifying pressure cooker.

so what is after the void ... we bang the bomb of course with a lady in a thong surrounded by snakes and hand grenades, obvious really! having been away for some time it appears that a light sounds dark spring is in the air. en route to their next destination (rumoured to be a dark subterranean world full of nasty mutants danger electrified tracks out this summer) with arms out the window and the mothership roof down, its full steam ahead and proper european dance music time. not really train spotting as before although a couple are a bit off piste like maltas very own ian dury by the name of iain richardson rapping about sitting on a green bus! much more like it however are classic italo covers of big in japan, gloria, a wonderful new wave version of falcos euro smash der kommissar and the thoughts massive german hit wait a long time sounding like some long lost talk talk record. light sounds dark do some minor tweaking (going for that natural look) to big beast anthems axodrys you and colme 111s you take me high (early euro take on chicago) and for lovers of something a bit more funky theres some groovy goings on from kraut funksters epsilon urging people to leave the city which might not be a bad idea if the water runs out.

after their first successful >youre mine< release on 8bit in 2011 mannheim based bunte bummler come up with the next sure shot. timeless deephouse paired with modern electronic basslines and catchy vocals make this release a massive package. perfect tunes for the upcoming open air season!

2012 - we are milleniumized neo, more than ever before. 1993, when techno was all over the place, german experts tommi eckart (at that time not 2raumwohnung yet) and ralf hertwig (at that time not palais schaumburg anymore) released a track, which found its way out there as a legendary underground-club classic in germany,england, benelux and france: the beat just goes straight on and on. its been sold out for years, but djs still play it in the clubs and it never lost its beat. now in 2012, almost 20 years later, the vinyl reissue being released, including the original cut and a remix by matthew styles & tobi neumann. it just goes on and on, enjoy!

nice price deal !!! vladivostok lad eastcolors is probably most well-known within the dnb community for his mixes and for his collaborations with enei and nuage. as far as modern drum and bass is concerned eastcolors is at the forefront of that techy, fresh sound emanating from eastern europe and russia. with this in mind then, it is clear that while his tunes fuse well with his fellow russian drum and bass cohorts, eastcolors is making a departure from collabs. what better way to celebrate demands tenth release then, with eastcolors settings about placing his name upfront and alone with his first ever solo 12 inch. on the flip >heavy tone< rumbles forth with a typically eastcolors take on what a roller should be. lenzman-esque synths and strange, celestial vocals are quickly worked over by an electrical storm of droning bass and pads. as the synths return to break up the clouds here and there, >heavy tone< loses the idea of becoming another lost bass-heavy roller and settles into being a multi-layered piece of quality drum and bass.

march sees the formidable hypercolour deliver its most surprising output yet, an ep from none other than groove armada. tom findlay and andy cato need little introduction as groove armada. chart smashes, huge live tours and being part of the worldwide electronic music history aside, the duo have never lost touch with their acid house roots and have continued to be devoted to record buying, djing and the much maligned promo trawl. tom and andy have been avid followers of the label it seemed, since its inception. it was through label head jamie, meeting the guys back in 2010 at space in ibiza, and then continued communication via hypercolour promos, that led to an out-of-the-blue email requesting an informal hook up in east london and, within just a few days, a release was scheduled. that release is the >no knock ep<, four tracks that range from 808 fuelled old school cuts to low slung, moog-bassd electronic funk. each sound is lovingly crafted but there is an analog rawness throughout and every track has the sort of tweaked, off-kilter and occasionally awkward vibe that hypercolour do so well. it just takes a bit of imagination to guess what a ga release on hypercolour should sound but failing that, just check the release out as it wont disappoint.

being one half of glasgow’s solab & 7th sign recordings affiliate, carlos nilmmns knows all about delivering deep driving techno and house. with his critically acclaimed mini album called subculture on ornaments last year, it is time for a full album called lune eclaire in 2012. lifeworld presents 6 of nilmmns’ finest tracks to date on this beautiful dark red marbled piece of wax. the producer’s skills range from deep driving techno to electronica, from acid to pumping house.

in 2006, hip-hop was turned on its head by the arrival of chicagos kenny dennis, a proudly married, mustachioed and middle-aged rapper repping no-nonsense lyrics and a salt-of-the-earth swagger. this unlikely hero delivered a handful of classics via the album, dennehy, and then disappeared. but in 2011, kennys cult of fans were given a gift: the long-lost 1993 lp theres a situation on the homefront from his theretofore unheard boom-bap crew tha grimm teachaz. (kenny was then known as kdz, tha killa deacon. the group was briefly signed to jive records.) as it turned out, that gift was twofold. inspired by the anticon-backed release of that unearthed gem, kenny has teamed up with producers jel and odd nosdam to make a brand new record, a reintroduction of sorts, dubbed the kenny dennis ep.

we are happy to report, after a short hiatus ray mang and his incomparable mangled label are back! his recent disco deviance release was more than enough to remind everyone what they d been missing, but here we have a fresh new mangled release - filled to brim with rays unique take on lost classics.
mangled has been a benchmark for quality edits since the late 90s, and with renewed interest in dance musics heritage, ray has found himself back at the forefront of a scene he was instrumental in forming. having been behind a plethora of releases on cult nu-disco labels like noid, fiasco, u star, nuphonic, eskimo etc etc over the years he has cemented his reputation as an amazing producer in his own right as well a studio engineer extraordinaire for the likes of the idjut boys, glimmers & many more.

anton kubikov and maxim milyutenko are widely known as scsi-9 and are by far the most recognizable and booked house / techno duo from russia. with a total of more than 50 releases and 120 tracks so far on labels such as traum/trapez, salo, freizeitglauben, morris audio, highgrade, force tracks, tyrant and kompakt they have earned great respect worldwide and are famous for their eclectic and crystal clear tech sound.

transmissions from the cyber dance imprint have been sporadic since its inception in 2005, but when they arrive they are always something very special indeed. ostensibly one of italo discos great lost producers, we suspect that bandidos gang may well be a nom de plume for one of the labels many associates. whatever their provenance, the tracks certainly sound like vintage italo, with >marinche< leading with a pulsating bass arpeggio and synth horn melody worthy of moroder, whilst the flemming dalum & steen gjerulff remix adds layers of vocoder and a variety of cosmic accents to its sturdy frame. >last train to tucamari< meanwhile takes a more languid approach, pulling in an opposite direction to the speeding train samples, whilst flemming dalum & mike saltas remix adds some guitar licks, hazy synth atmospherics and even a flute solo which just adds to the classic italo feel.

our favorite portuguese artist >johnwaynes< is back with two summer feeling songs. a side,>papiro< is afro brazillian unique house track and b side,>like the sunshine< is electro boogie track with male vocal(like prince). please also dont miss their excellent release on lets get lost(vol.7&8).

after their first album made the crash test dummies huge in their home country canada, their second album meant their big break in the usa and europe, thanks to the self-consciously bizarre lyrics and the deep baritone voice of singer/songwriter brad roberts, demonstrated in their worldwide top ten hit mmm mmm mmm mmm.
other popular singles off the album were >afternoons & coffeespoons< and >swimming in your ocean<. >god shuffled his feet< was the bands most commercially successfull album reaching top album charts in usa (#9), uk (#2) and in different countries in europe (ironically, after a car accident where brad roberts almost lost his arm, crash test dummies made a few other albums but unfortunately limited distribution made these hard to find).

the lyrics are again deeply personal and in many cases the songs speak of struggle, redemption and again, struggle. luke explains in his own words, the first record i made has a very homeless or wild-west feel to it and this new one is filled with addresses and luxuries.

a symbiosis of two perfectionists who would like to surprise with something new and got lost in the deep widenesses of techno. now, zdenko grbavac and morgenklang let it come true and release their first record in common. the two tracks are technoid, impulsive and surprising at the same time. >epos< comes out on top at the middle distinctivly. the tracks baseline is remindful of the early 80s synth-pop and sounds in combination with the remaining parts like an unstoppable train. the track >novum< is a monster of chord and pushes relentlessly. however the athmosphere creates a certain easiness and moves the audience in a dreamy state.

disco deviance is coming straight outta chicago for their latest release as legendary dj and edit supremo rahaan wields the blade on two lost disco classics. proceedings kick off with the looped up chicago-style boogie of >make me whole<, a groove that is 100% guaranteed to work the dance floor. while over on the flip, rahaan digs even deeper into the crates and comes up with >shut up & rock me< an absolute dance floor bomb of a cut! lovingly edited and re-mastered for modern floors.

everytime romance is a new label for italo disco and pop. its all about lovely, dreamy and catchy vibes. the label presents its very own sound for emotional clubnights, shining discoballs and to sing along. the first release is produced by stefano e bene. the duo already released on compost disco (together with hard ton). for >forever in my dreams< they invited maja in their happy sunshine studio. the singer from sweden is known from her great if you love me tonight record on marco passaranis nature records. now its time to bring her wonderful voice back in the ears. the original mix of forever in my dreams has everything a romantic italo pop track needs. and the remixes by discodromo and raiders of the lost arp will convince the floors with their magic grooves for sure..

leeds/nottingham duo mak & pasteman might be in their 20s, but their musical influences stretch from the funk and soul of the 60/70s, through juan atkins proto-techno, to soulful house, d n b and uk garage. which wont surprise anyone listening to this, their debut ep for shifting peaks, a 4 track statement of intent that sounds like it couldnt have been made any time but 2012, but also feels like 20 years of hardcore continuum is embedded deep in its musical dna.

the friendship with jason lanox and henk goes way back into the early days when we started holding parties on an old shipyard in amsterdam. from the first moment henk was captured by the productions of jason lanox. henk followed him closely and saw him grow as a person, producer and performer. the first album >burning every bridge that i cross to find some beautiful place to get lost< was the reason to finally realize the long kept ambition to start henk recordings.

seahawks >invisible sunrise< album was a great closer for 2011 and featured in many of the choice end of year charts. to celebrate seahawks are releasing 2 remixes by 2 of their favourite musical magicians - dr dunk and gatto fritto.

the irish blues-rock multi-instrumentalist rory gallagher recorded quite some solo albums throughout the 1970s and 1980s. music on vinyl already released the lost album >notes from san francisco<(movlp349) in september 2011.
now its time for gallaghers first two albums to get fully remastered and pressed on audiophile 180-grams vinyl. rory gallagher released his eponymous solo debut album in 1971. this album marked the departure from taste, the first band which gallagher founded, and the start of his solo career. gallagher wrote all the songs himself and recorded the album with two befriended belfast musicians.
>deuce< is gallaghers second solo album and was originally released in 1971 as well. in contrast with his previous well-produced album, >deuce< was an effort by to capture the energy of a live performance. in order to do so gallagher would often record immediately before or after live performances while keeping production at a minimum.
